I have a blacktop instrument with lots of cool wear. It also has this big ding, where it looks like the clear has partially separated from the black and it looks sparkly. It's obvious from across the room, and crosses the line from "that guitar looks worn" to "that guitar is dented"

Without spraying and leveling, might a tiny application of something like butyl cellosolve amalgamate the tiny sparkles and make this look less obvious? Or, am I squarely in "anything you do will make it worse" territory?

Being that it is already buggered, a small drop of CA, in one of the oval spaces, as a preview, would be in order. if you are happy with how it looks, carry on, or not. It would likely wick into the fracture and take the sparkle out anyway.

I often take a black Sharpie and color the area before applying Glu-Boost. Sometimes it makes for a nearly invisible repair. This actually works better than even using the GluBoost tints, at least for a black finish.

Thanks to both of you - out of town for a while and left this instrument at home, so it'll be a while til I do anything.
